This is a very interesting interview with Iain Sinclair. Both writers will be reading in London soon, Ballard on Thursday and Sinclair in October sometime at Tate Britain appearing with Nick Papadimitriou.

Thanks for the link - it looks brilliant. I've saved it as a pdf and will take a look later.
I saw the Ballard talk tonight with readings from his new book. I'm a real sucker for this stuff because it's about here where I live. Millennium People was all around the M4 elevated section, down to Heathrow. Hammersmith and Chiswick. There's a shopping mall in the new one based on the Bentalls Centre in Kingston I've also been to. I bought the book and had Ballard sign it thus:
To Peter
Good luck leaving Hounslow.
J G Ballard
As luck would have it the first page was about the character driving with Heathrow in his rear view mirror and seeing signs for Hillingdon and Staines...basically he's driving through Hounslow. One of those chance things I suppose.
When I told him he said 'Hounslow? that's hell-on-earth!'.
Just the send off I needed!
Hope you told him that Shepperton isn't so crash hot either. Shame I missed it - I was in one of those Ballardian of places - a Tesco superstore, I get very dizzy and disorientated. Good luck in Wales, remember to tell people that you paid homage to the Gwyndwrs at the memorial garden.
